I sit here feeling guilty that I am not producing stock right now. I have had two dreams come true in the last few weeks, and I want to share my excitement. The dreams are these: vending at the Bellevue Art Museum Show and having my own booth at the Oregon Country Fair. I was waitlisted for the Bellevue Art Museum Show at first. Then I received notification that my status had changed to accepted! Yay! The only booth spaces left were enormous, but in a good location and a corner, so I took the opportunity to expand. Then my Oregon Country Fair booth partner backed out of vending this year for personal reasons. Wowee! I have another opportunity for expansion! My main goal this year was to double my business, a hefty goal. So I should be pleased, and I am, yet...
How am I to produce enough for these two events? I have been making at least $500 worth of back stock a day, every day, for a few weeks now. I am still vending every weekend at the Vancouver Farmer's Market too. I am making product there as well. These little hands of mine are non stop. Injury is a concern, so rest is important, as well as changing my tasks regularly.
The shows are 3 weeks apart, so I will have a bit of time to catch my breath. But that is not how I roll. I realized when I was in high school that the more I do, the more I do. I had the lead roll in the school play the fall of my senior year. It was the only time I ever made Honor Roll, although I could have done so with a little effort any other semester. I realized I was unmotivated to push myself, until I had almost too much to do. I feel the same way now. I even pushed my schedule farther (furthur? ;)) ) by planning a girls trip to San Fransisco to see Dead & Co the weekend after the Oregon Country Fair.
July is going to be a crazy ride. If you want to catch up with me, it will be a blast! I am doing my best to be prepared for the onslaught of happy customers. Watch me grow!
